2006 Spring Board of Governors Meeting

The spring board of governors meeting was held at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on April 1. The board approved raising society dues to $26. Board of Governor Elections

Each year 3 new members are elected the SSIT board of Governors to serve a 3 year term. Individuals interested in standing for election should email Prof. Brian O’Connell at oconnellb@ccsu.edu.

Barus Award

On April 26, 2006 Dr. Nancy Kymm Harvin received the IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology (SSIT) Carl Barus Award for Outstanding Service in the Public Interest for the contribution and personal sacrifice in drawing attention to significant safety problems at the Salem and Hope Creek nuclear facility.
